Just a few final words on tomorrow’s crocus planting from Nisha and me.
Firstly, thank you all for volunteering your services to work together, however
long you can join for. Thanks also to our 4 team leaders.
The weather forecast looks good, but please wear suitable clothing in layers.
Hi-vis will be provided.
Please also wear gardening or work gloves, as there may not be hand washing
facilities available; use hand sanitiser as appropriate. If any tools are
shared outside your household, they must be wiped down. Please social distance
as normal.
Please keep all roads and footpaths clear to avoid danger to others, and keep
your personal possessions safe.
Parking should be possible at:
1. Ray Park Avenue for Bridge Gardens
2. Cranbrook Drive for Furze Platt
3. Langdale Close or town centre car parks for Library
4. Oaken Grove or Mulberry Walk for Nicholas Winton Garden
Many hands make light work, so please feel free to bring a friend or relative
with you, but please do share this safety advice with them.
Adam and Chloe will be visiting each group for official pics, but please take a
few yourselves and share the best with us afterwards.
Now, paint the town purple - for polio!

You may notice that I am not included in any of these groups - sadly, I have
tested positive for COVID, and won't be allowed out until next week.
I would like to ask for a leader for the Library group - Eddie, would you be
happy to take this role? This team will be planting on the inclines either
side of the waterway, adjacent to the footbridge behind the library (I can
send photos).
Our risk assessment from last year is attached; please read through this
before Saturday, so that you are aware of potential hazards.
The main points to remember are:
follow all normal COVID precautions, including sanitising hands and
disinfecting any tools being shared with wipes
keeping all footpaths clear of tools, etc
taking care around roads and wearing high-visibility clothing (we will
provide)
for those working at the library, taking care on the inclined banks and edges
of the waterway, which may be slippery
If you have hand tools such as a trowel, garden fork, spade, etc, please
bring these with you. We can provide some spare tools if needed. It is
recommended to wear gardening gloves throughout, as there are no handwashing
facilities near most of the sites.
In case of very bad weather, we may postpone to another day - we will let you
know on Friday if this is the case. On the day, you can contact Nisha on
