[macvoiceover] why do I have to restart voiceover when using skype?

Hello all. When I start my mac, which has the latest version of skype does
voiceover just ding at me when I press the buttons to check skype? Skype signs
in but I can't do anything. I have to restart voiceover. Why is this? If anyone
can tell me I'd appreciate it. Thank you and have a good day.
