Ok, so you are saying, mark, that you've definitely set your time Machine prefs so that it won't do anything automatically? Because unless you set it not to do automatic work, which is how I'll set it if I ever start it again, it will do it automatically. I'm only asking you to confirm on this point because it took me a while to understand that.
