I was wondering about this too.

I remember, people having problems, after updating to iOS 13, as the keyboard defaulted to slide to type. But at least they could go into settings and turn it off.

But i'm guessing with a new phone, you won't have that option, if it is on by default. Which could create problems signing in, with your account details.

Dave.

Maria,
When I got my iPhone 11 Pro, this feature was not turned on by default. I’m not sure how it will be with a new phone though. I plan to upgrade also as I do not care for the 11 Pro. I will try to get some more information about how it will be set up and I will pass it along.

HI.
I have a question about setting up a new iphone SE, once i get one.
I am still running the latest version of iOS 12.
I am assuming when the new phone arrives it will be running iOS 13. I am wondering how people deal with the slide to type function whilst they are trying to set up their phone.
Is the slide to type option on by default?
if it is, how do you then type in your credentials so you can sign in?
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
