Hi Marti,

Is this a resend or are we starting over from scratch.

We had established that applecare helped you diagnose that something was
rong with your addressbook. I think the icon at the top left of the screen
he was refering to by the way was the apple menu logo. There were 4 address
less in your addrbook thank your Mac from your account so I figured you were
able to view it.

There are two ways to view the addressbook on your mac, one is the
addressbook as application. you can interact with this one directly. press
dommand-shift-a to launch the apps folder, addressbook is the app you want,
press command-o to open it and have a look. you'll have to use the VO keys
with arrows to explore it but it should show all your addresses.

I'm having a senior moment on where the addressbook is in mail but you can
view those address there too and make changes.

You can use mail to import the addressbook if I remember rightly, but it
uses the same technique as the addressbook to import mail.

I had mentioned that you might want to see if you can have the addresses
converted to ldap through a 3rd party program/web site. I would recommand
though that you try having them converted into vcf format. or is it vcd.
Anyway, what you could do if you have it on your .98 system is import them
into outlook express and export them as vcd or vcf whichever it is and then
what you do is just open that folder thay get put in and copy them directly
to the addressbook.

Subject: [macvoiceover] my address book

Hi all, since I think my address book is imported, since I go over to
the right, and it says 754 cards, and since I can't find a way to view
one of the addresses, and it is my understanding that mail gets its'
addresses from the address book, and I can't type a name that I know is
in my addr.csv file, then, do I have to import that addr.csv, or
address book in to mail, and how do I do that, though, it seems to me,
that I should be able to type any name, and it should fill the address
in for me, but it is acting as though there are no addresses, and this
is getting frustrating for me. I'm having to write my mail on my
windows machine until I can get this thing figured out, so thanks in
advance for any help.

Marty
