Hi, everyone,
Just wanted to tell you about my experience since Wednesday, or more accurately, Tuesday, with my macbook aluminum. Tuesday morning, I powered it up and was greeted with the familiar chime, then beeps, just beeps. I was told to try command-option-r-p at power on, and it worked! Special thanks to my friend who helped me with this! Anyway, Wednesday early afternoon, after working well for the most part since Tuesday, it began to do the same beeping again. This time, nothing helped. I phoned Apple Care, and ended up taking it to the Apple store. It turns out that the beeping was like a morse code, telling them that it was most likely a memory issue. Well, they tried to fix the memory but it wasn't going well while I was there. I was told it was more likely to be a problem with the logic board. So, I reluctantly left the store without my mac, much to my chagrin! Well, it turned out to actually be a memory problem, along with a softwear problem in the hard drive. They reinstalled the os, and when I went to the store today, armed with my external hard drive on which I had fortunately backed up my entire home folder on, are you ready, Wednesday morning, the very helpful genius at the genius bar reinstalled it for me, and was very patient as I tried out my mail and other things using voiceover. So, I just thought I'd share this experience with all of you. Sure didn't think I'd have a problem after only 2 months, but things happen, and fortunately I've got it back now! Marcy
