Explore the Denoising options in the effects menu. This is good for removing or
reducing particular frequencies or background.
First I mark a region of sound I want to reduce and loop it and have it
playing. Then in the denies option I sample the sound then after making
settings I reduce the noise.
You need to listen to the track and make sure you have not reduced too much
that you have removed or reduced too much and it sounds affected.

There are also click and crackle removal effects as VST or AU effects, I am
not sure which one to use at the moment but perhaps a search, many are free.
