I gotta ask even though I am a new v/o user so just learning, by scripts do you mean a program to use as an add-on to v/o to perform certain functions, in this case dragging and dropping? ----- Original Message ----- From: "william" <wonka@xxxxxxxxxx>

Hello Keith,
Thanx for the lin.
The only script there is the move script I have already tested.
This script is not exactly what I want since the interface of that script is a litlebit complicated.

I mean: why should you open a new dealoguebox to select the files/folders while you are normally alredy on the right objects in the finder.

Also, When I split the operation in 2 scripts, one for dragging and one for dropping, this script becomes more flexible. I think, then you can use it also in Itunes or some other programs that requires drag and drop operations.
So, not only on finder-items I think.

I'll try to write it myself but , if someone could help me, it should go faster.

If I have a good result, I will send it to you keith, to post it on the archive.

best regards,
William

Hi all,
I have tested the drag and drop procedures an, it works!!! :)

However , I find it very complex for just moving a file(s) /folder(s).

To make it more similar to the windows system: ctrl+x and ctrl+v, I am thinking about the following solution:

One script with hotkey : option+x:
contents of the script:
vo+command f5: route mouse-cursor to vo-cursor
vo+command+shift+spacebar: to lock the mouse button
end of script
Then move the vo-cursor to the target location

new script with hotkey : option+v:
vo+command+f5: to route the mouse-cursor to the vo-cursor
vo+command+shift+spacebar: to unlock the mousebutton
Last (optional) step here is to turn off mouse tracking.
This is needed while working with a braille display and I don't know the shortcut for that.

With this 2 scripts, you can do drag and drop with option+x and option+v , like in windows.

Can someone help with writing this scripts?
I don't know anyting about apple scripts.

This should be usefull in alot applications and very userfriendly I think.

Thanx alot,
best regards,
William Windels
