Hi Jeff, I'm getting the same message; apparently, depending on where you are, you only have access to the "free" books. Some posts on the net indicate that Apple hasn't reached deals with some of the book distributers outside of the U.S.

Hi, I thought I'd download the ibooks app. I keep getting a message connection to the app store failed. One time I was able to search for ibooks and double-tap ibooks by apple inc and then got the same message. Anybody else having these problems? Thanks, jeff Greene --Email services provided by the System Access Mobile Network.
