Hi folks, Its time to think about weather you will upgrade to the macs new operating system 10.7, or, Lion. Remember its ok if you don't upgrade for a while. However its coming soon, Monday will begin the big push. Lots of folks do not upgrade for a few weeks. I know of some folks who are still using Leopard and thats fine. We still have a Tiger computer on line here. Here are some things to think about before you decide to upgrade. 1. Make sure that all of the apps you use are Lion Ready. 2. Make sure you have a way to back up your system. 3. Read about Lion so that you will know what to expect when the information becomes available. I don't know of anyone who has all of the inside information, but here are a couple of things I have read about Lion which makes it interesting to me. WebKit 2. WebKit is the inter workings for Safari, mail, Dashboard and other things. WebKit is being replaced with WebKit 2 which was built from the ground up. Because it runs more functions separately, it should load faster and crash less. Voices I sent a bit of information to the list the other day telling us that new voices have been added. I don't have the answers to all of the questions, most of what I have learned I have learned with an internet search, but, it is time to think about the Lion.
