that is exactly how it sounds, i will change system voice and see if i can
identify the source, as i said, if i mute vo it goes away.
siri has gotten much better in giving an immediate answer so has some use as
does voice control which i now have turned on and am learning.

Okey dokey, I was just digging through the archives for the troubleshooting
the list did for a new member a few months ago, similar situation, but I
think it was on IOS.
Can you tell if it is the Mac system voice, like do you have it set to a
different voice? I have my system voice set to Alex and voiceover set to Ava.
I get a lot of system voice announcements when I’m using Zoom, especially
when I have focus on a different app. My latest was a big church meeting
where I had two devices active, I had the person talking, Voiceover
announcing incoming text messages on my Mac, same messages being read by my
phone but just out of synch and with a slightly different voice, VO on my
phone reading second thread on Slack, and the system voice chiming in from my
Mac with the Zoom chat. I couldn’t figure out how to turn any of it off and
stay connected. I hear you on the cacophony.
I’m not super familiar with using Siri on myMac, how do you susually get
answers? If I ask Siri to do someting on my phone the Siri voice responds,
but then VO is back when I poke around the screen, like to confirm the
answer. Is it similar on the Mac?

Check to see if you have system voicesounds active. It will take me a bit
to find the settings, but it’s in Accessibility somewhere I think. Wait, I
assume we’re talking IPhone here, not Mac, it’s a similar but different
thing on Mac.

turning off nearly all notifications for applications and a restart may

if i mute voiceover the second voice is gone and only the siri voice is
heard, partial solution but looks like i need to look into voiceover for
the source of this issue.
