John & Cheryl,
Thanks so very much! This has been bugging me for a while & I just didn’t get
around to asking the question. It’s one of the things I love about this list.
There’s not an inordinate amount of traffic, but when someone asks a
question…invariably…a kind soul or two will get right back with the answer.
The community on this list is a great resource.
Thanks so very much, again,
CJ

To clarify, it used to be that the password was populated without doing
anything and I think this may have been eliminated on purpose.

I am not sure it is a mistake. I think possibly that this is a security
thing, not to have the fields populated unless you use the autofill menu.
Command-shift-a does also work but if the user name and password are on
separate pages you will have to do it again for the password if you have done
it for the username so I find it just as easy just to up or down arrow and
hit enter on the field.

Press Command-shift-a when you are told the auto fill menu is available
will populate the specific fields. I don't know why this stopped, but it has
been reported to accessibility.

I have also had some difficulty using the auto fill feature.

Hi All,
Since upgrading my OS several months ago, I’ve noticed that web site log in
info—user accounts & passwords—aren’t automatically populated, as they were
in the past. I’m not sure what changed, but any help/suggestions would be
greatly appreciated. Also, I am told that the fields have an “autofill
menu” but I’m not sure how to access those. I’ve tried interacting with
the field & clicking on the password button, but nothing happens. I’ve
looked on the web, but can’t find any info on using them with voiceover.
Again, any help would be great!
Thanks,
CJ
