Thanks very much for the tip. I'll give it a try now but this seems like the solution I was looking for and I thank you for suggesting it. ----- Original Message ----- From: Marie Howarth To: macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, April 15, 2009 7:54 PM Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: Query about iTunes album's and groupings Hi, yeah you can select multiple tracks at once. while in the songs table turn cursor tracking off with vo + shift + f3 and vo to the first item, remember you need to use your vo keys here. Once you're on the first song press vo + command + spacebar and using your vo keys again to find the next track, select that one with vo + command + spacebar, When you've finished selecting all the songs you want to put on the playlist, press vo + shift + M and add the selected tracks to the desired playlist. Sometimes this doesn't always work to get into the contextual menu but if you press control + mouse key that usually works. Remember to turn cursor tracking back on by pressing vo + shift + f3 again as it won't take you out of the highlighted area without it being on. Hope that helps On 15 Apr 2009, at 10:34, Scott Rutkowski wrote: Hi Marie. I like the second method at the moment. do you have to vo m on each track and choose add to play list then choose your playlist or is there a way of selecting multiple tracks at once before doing the vo shift m first? ----- Original Message ----- From: Marie Howarth To: macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, April 15, 2009 7:22 PM Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: Query about iTunes album's and groupings All I can advise and I'm not entirely sure if this would work with purchased material is to change the info of each track. Alternatively you could make a playlist for each individual album and select the songs you want to add to the playlist. here's how to do each method. to change info! to change each individual song, highlight it in the songs table and press command I. Edit the fields labelled album ensuring the album you're going to use is spelt correctly. repeat this step for each song in the album you want and do the same for all of your tracks in the collection. To add the songs to t a playlist press command N, name your playlist with the album's title for example, then highlighting the songs you want to add to that playlist, press vo + shift + M and go to add to playlist and in the sub menu select which playlist you want to add the specific tracks too. If you need more information, let me know. HTH Marie On 15 Apr 2009, at 05:57, Scott Rutkowski wrote: HI all. Can anyone please advise how I can do the following in iTunes? OK the deal is I have a box set the metallica collection I just purchased. Now alll the albums in the box set are all named the metallica collection then under this title all the albums are grouped in to groupings and all the tracks for each album are part of the box set. My query is if i use the browser to look up metallica then look up the album then under the grouping column I can see all the albums listed. I want to sort all the albums in to their own playlists by using the grouping column. Is this possible and if so how is it done? At first when I looked up metallica in the browser i thought i would be able to sort by albums but no it shows up as the metallica collection and each album is grouped in their own grouping. Thanks to anyone who can assist.
