Hey Ian,
Some apps do allow you to do that, but it’s definitely not the norm. I doubt
Zoom supports using more than one audio device at once, for instance. The first
app that comes to mind is Backpack Studio, which has an option in its settings
to enable or disable the bluetooth mic when a bluetooth device is connected. In
that case you can definitely use a good microphone connected via the lightning
port, and monitor with a bluetooth headset while also listening to VO. Now that
I think of it, maybe Ferrite allows you to do it as well, but I would need to
check to make sure.

I’ve been playing around with this a bit but haven’t found a solution yet.
What I’d like to do is use an external microphone plugged into the lightning
port of my IPhone while I use a Bluetooth headset to hear Voiceover and
control the phone. I know the technical capacity is there because you can do
it with the native camera app. The upshot of the camera app not supporting
Bluetooth microphones is that it doesn't recognize that channel at all,
defaulting to the on-board microphones or an external mic plugged into the
lightning port. If there is a way to do this manually I’d use one of my
better Lightning mics for Zoom sessions while hearing other people and
Voiceover through a Bluetooth headset.
It would also be handy for recording better quality audio with the Voice
Memos app. This would help avoid having Voiceover content showing up in a
recording.
Yup, I know that I can use a wired headset to accomplish this, but I’d like
the flexibilityof being able to move a few feet away from the phone.
