Hi DavidThe Mac is free of viruses, as far as I know there's not a single in- the-wild virus that affects OS X. Spyware is nonexistent as well, as 99% of the spyware out there relies specifically on holes in either Windows itself or Internet Explorer to get in. There are anti-virus programs for Mac, but you really don't need to run any. OS X is able to start items at login. Go under System Preferences, then accounts, then login items for the user you wish to add the item for. For instance, if your user name is David, go under system prefs, accounts, select David from the list, then select the login items tab. There'll be a table there with all the current login items, and an add and delete button. I'm really glad you're going to give OS X another trial. An informed opinion is the best kind. hth, and ask all the questions you want on this list, that's what we're here for.

Hi Everyone,Ok, you guys have convinced me to give the Mac and voice-over more of a go. So for the next few months I will try and use nothing but my Mac mini. This means I shall abandon my VM Windows for the time being in order to see what the Mac with Voice over can really offer me which Windows doesn't besidesreliability of course which I've already touched on.With this in mind and I don't mean to start a flame or anything, is the Mac free from virus and spyware attacks and if not, what are the best programs to use to combat these pests? Also, is there a way to have the Mac start a program automatically at bootup in the same way Windows would start up a system service? For the person who wanted to know about nav keys in the Mac browser I understand these can be performed with the Vo+Command +DesiredKeyE.G. Headings would be Vo+Command+h. Correct me if I'm wrong on this.
