I purchased my first Mac Mini about 9 or so years ago. At the time, VoiceOver
was in its infancy as my Mac came with OS X 10.4. Unfortunately, that was
during the time when Apple was making the switch to Intel processors and only
Intel based Macs were eligible to upgrade to OS X 10.5. Being that my Mac Mini
wasn’t intel based, I was stuck on 10.4. I never used it as my primary
computer. After watching VoiceOver grow and grow, I decided to replace my old
work laptop with a MacBook Air 2 years ago. I liked it so much that I
purchased a 21-inch iMac to replace my home Windows computer. Additionally, I
had the option to upgrade my desktop computer at work with an iMac. So I have
a 27-inch iMac sitting in my office waiting to replace my old Windows 7
computer. So I’ll be completely Mac in the very near future. I have fusion
with Windows 7 and Windows 10 on my home iMac just to maintain my familiarity
with Windows. I’ll also have Windows on my work iMac for those instances when
I need to run Windows only software. But all and all, I have grown to prefer
the Mac OS over Windows.

I bought my first mac, the mac mini, just over a year ago. I figured if I
learned about 25 key commands and some general information about the computer
layout, I could start making progress. If you know 50 commands, you start
switching over to the mac more and more. John’s mac tutorials for the blind
have helped me make steady progress and I finally have gotten to the point
that the more I use my mac, the more I like it.
