Thanks CJ, that is also a consideration but probably a 2 or more terrabyte as
there will be a greater proportion of ssd, and perhaps the i7 over the i5 but
still in the 21.5inch model.
The ssd drives are quite a price difference over the fusions.
However, I think it is video processing that requires the higher specs, not
audio on its[ own.

Tuscia,
My MacBook Pro bought the farm in the middle of June. Actually, about the
time my wife was scheduled for surgery. So, needless to say, it was a busy
time.
Anyway, I was able to purchase a iMac, 21.5 with Retina display, as a refurb
for a nice price. It is an I5 with 16GB built in ram. I mention it, because
it had a 1TB Fusion drive. I’ve found it to be very responsive & I’m totally
happy with it. Too maybe, unless you just want to spend the funds, you could
one of the combination SSD & HD Fusion drives.
Good luck,
CJ

Thanks Keith, that is what I am considering plus probably an SSD drive
rather than mechanical.

I am using an I7 processor with 16 gig of ram on the studio computer. It

I am going to upgrade my iMac and am going through the specs on the new
2017 desktops. I am currently considering a 21.5" with 32Gb RAM and the

Does anyone doing audio, Logic or GB multi-tracking have any input.
What are you driving Keith ?
