You may have to explore desktop and screensaver preferences in system
preferences to get the desktop background you want.
I recall when I still had some vision that the inverted black and white made a
huge difference, I understand how you feel.

to finish before the snow comes. However I had a vision assessment and with
the very little eyesight I have I was given some reading glasses that may

I went through the settings and saw that command option and the equals key
zooms my screen. The problem is the key combination given for zooming out

Also if there are any people on this list who have a little bit of vision I
am trying to set my Mac to white on black. The only way I can see anything on
the Mac is if text is white on a black background. I did check the box for
invert colors. The problem is it gives me a white background on my desktop,
most windows from what I can see when opened our black background with white
text which is what I want the problem is that the white background on the
desktop is blinding me. Is there anyway to set everything to white on black?
If not the only other thing I can think of is maybe changing my desktop
colour to white so that the invert will change it to black but I do not know
how to do that. Does anybody know how to do this colour change?

Try this.
While in the doc and while you are on something you want to move, press
option-command left and right arrows. On my system I hear no speech
feedback so you will need to check if it is moved where you want it but this
may be different with other iterations of the os.
finding a program you want in the doc. I use the item chooser, vokeys-i
and then type in the name of the thing you want to find like trash for
example.

copies of these text documents in my notes app but I realized with text
edit through iCloud I can view these notes on my iPhone in the Files app I

thought I could view these files on my Windows laptop through the iCloud

find that app anywhere on my windows laptop. I have another question which
I’m assuming is a simple one for Mac experts or a long time users. How can
I re-order things in my dock? Also in the dock I hear things such as finder
one of 18 and if I arrow right I hear the various items that are in my dock
until I get to something which the voiceover calls separator and then I
hear trash and downloads sometimes things I minimize are in that section
after the separator how can I get to that section quickly in the dock
without having to arrow across 20 times to get there? Thanks again for all

Rich text format is good and simple
When first saving it should ask where you want it to be saved and it
will continue to be saved in that location.
You will also want to name the document, by default it is named
'untitled', if you press return when on a document you can now name it ,
press return again and the new name stays.

Text edit was not in the doc for me. I did find it in my applications
folder. Again Google can sometimes be your best friend. I found the
command to move text edit into my dock. If I want my documents to be
viewed on my iPhone as well in that case should I be saving in rich

On your mac, you should have a program called text edit. if you open
it you will be presented with a ruler and an edit field, similar to
the way many word processors look.
In the menu bar, which you mentioned that you can navigate with ease
:), navigate to the edit option … arrow down and you will hear make
plain text … shift - command - T. press that and presto.
That command is a toggle so if you press it again, it will revert to
rich text format which is the text edit default.
Once it is set to plain text, save it and presto … you have done it.

creating notes for recipes, other important information, or even just
things to remember. I want to learn the Mac and I hope this can be
done on the Mac if not do you have any other suggestions?
