Yes this is cross posted but when it comes to gigs for blinks, I like to spread the word as far and wide as I can. If you get duplicates, you can delete them or send me a nastygram, I don't really care. (What's up with Chris' attitude this morning? No big deal, a house just fell on his sister.) Help Wanted: A small company focusing on software products that people with vision impairment can use for a whole panoply of tasks, is seeking one or more competent iPhone hackers. They prefer hiring people with vision impairment as we bring along greater intuition for user needs that do randomly selected programmers. They have a sighted person who can clean up the UI when the software approaches beta so no one need worry about that. I've been working with these guys on and off for more than five years and can attest to their commitment to excellence and they have a great reputation around the biz for innovation and exploring new territory. If you are interested, please send me a private email about yourself and I'll see if you might be a fit. Do not ask me about compensation as I don't know or care what these gigs pay, I'm just helping out as a friend. If I like your email, I'll send it onto the guys at this company and will step out of the picture as they will take over from that point. Happy Hacking, cdh BTW: The meaning of "Vision Impaired Because I write a lot of grant proposals and such, I need to make sure that I use very precise language when describing a population segment. People With VIsion Impairment (PWVI) is the current politically correct term. There are various degrees of Vision Impairment: moderate (20:200 or worse with no possible correction), severe (light perception, can use computer with ZoomText, on their way to screen reader if they have a degenerative disorder), profound (people like me who can, sometimes, tell if bright light is present or not but, otherwise, cannot see anything of value) and, lastly, total vision impairment (no light, no motion, nothing). If anyone wants to know the genesis of the PWVI phrase from degrees of visual impairment or blindness, please ask and I'll write up a history on the BS list. -- End > > Click on the link below to go to our homepage. > http://www.icanworkthisthing.com > > Manage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below. > //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover > > Users can subscribe to this list by sending email to > macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web > interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover >
