Hi Mike & all,

Nope, tried that and Safari still crashed when I pasted the text. Thanks for the idea though.

I don't have an account with Face Book, but I am wondering if you couldn't accomplish writing longer messages by first writing them in Text Edit and then copying them to the clipboard and then pasting them into the Face Book
application?

Just a thought,

Mike

I have also noticed that when I attempt to reply to a message on
facebook, after writing a few sentences safari will say it encountered
an error and needs to close. . I tried this three times and got the
same results.

Hi,

I haven't been sent a message on FaceBook so I haven't been able to
try to reply. While I have had a FB account for a while, I pretty
well ignored it so yesterday was my first real attempt to do
anything terribly interesting. It's the nature of being a research
bum - deadlines can be insane especially if one only knows about a
quarter of the material before diving in and writing something about
it for a piece of a proposal.

So, in my 24 hours of actual use, I have found that the mobile site
and the iPhone app are the easiest ways to do most things. In the
big site, I found a lot of double speaking and other random VO
behaviors that, while not catastrophic, were far more annoying than
the little bug-a-boos on the mobile site.

Sorry I can't be more helpful. "Friend" me if you like.

Hey Chris,

Have you actually tried responding to a message sent to you through
Facebook? Using VO, every time I try responding to a message on
the regular Facebook site, I can type only so much text, and then
Safari crashes. It happens every time. I need either to go to my
Windows machine or go to the Mobile Facebook site.

Thanks Chris,

Sorry for the cross post but I'm jamming on a white paper
regarding screen reader support in social network sites. I've
enjoyed looking up old high school buddies and am glad to see how
few are in jail.

I've tried Face book in its regular site in Safari, using its
mobile site in Safari, using the mobile site on my iPhone and
using the iPhone app to access it. It seems mostly accessible
but, for the life of me, I cannot find out where I can add
personal information like location city and other profile
information. Under "profile" I find nothing that sounds like it
belongs under that title but their definition and mine may vary.

Please help.
