David,
Thanks for the explanation of the two devices.

No, Apple Watch, like other Apple products, is fully accessible
out-of-the-box. FitBit will monitor movement and heartrate, but the info can
only be accessed through the FitBit app.

So, if I can piggy back on that question, is the Apple Watch the same as a
Fit Bit?
Thanks.

First, touching the watch face twice with about a half second between
touches causes the watch to vibrate the time.
Second, regular checks of one's heart rate.
Third, when using Apple Maps for GPS, pulses when it is time to turn
(different pulse type for left and right turn.
Fourth, vibration on wrist when the iPhone is ringing (I now keep my
iPhone on silent all the time because I never miss the wrist vibration).
Fifth, can answer the phone using the watch (Dick Tracy), then transfer
the call to the iPhone when desired.
Sixth, Quick pulse on wrist when an alert comes up on the lock screen.
Kind regards,

Dear listers, I would appreciate your opinion.
I always carry my iphone with me. I have a talking watch for time and
date..
Apart from the coolness of the watch and that I love apple stuff, what is
there about the watch that is a game changer, particularly for the blind?
I can't decide whether to buy one or not. I get really keen then wonder
if it is real value for money at a time I have other priorities.
All comments on practical uses that I can't get from my phone greatly
appreciated.
Thanks as always,
