When you say you thought you knew how to do you mean that they were previously 
working for you and have stopped working? I've noticed that the page up and 
page down commands are application-specific. Or rather that they work in the 
pages were processor but not in any of the others. Like TextEdit. The other 
thing to make sure is that you are interacting with the edit field of your 
document.

The commands for top and bottom of document seemed to work fine across 
applications. It is command up arrow and command down arrow respectively.
