You need to go into preferences for Pages and under, New Document, choose
the blank template and then the radio button that designates not to use the
template chooser. This way, when you press commmand-n, it will just be a blank
document.

I am trying to figure out how to get Pages to open in a new document each
time it launches without selecting it in the template chooser. Can’t seem to
get the preferences to allow this. Can’t remember how to make this preference
to stay saved in preferences for Pages. Thanks.************
