     The easiest thing to do is save the attachment first and then open it up 
after saving.  There is a toggle attachment view if you open an email with an 
attachment, but it's a little unreliable from my experience to view the 
attachment from there.  I have a work flow that will save an attachment 
directly to my downloads folder, but this might be something to consider when 
you have used the Mac for a while and are more comfortable.  You can also set 
up a shortcut key up in system preferences as well to save attachments with a 
specific keystroke, but again, this might be a bit too advanced.  You'll find 
the save attachment item under the file menu.
