Well, so do I, but I need an unlocked phone and I like the concept of a
different color, even though I can't see it.

I still prefer touch ID. I find face ID problematic at night if I am laying

wouldn’t have to pick it up and deliberately look at it. But that isn’t to
say Face ID is really a problem. I just don’t think it is as efficient for me
as touch ID was. But it surely beat using a passcode every time.

I have an iPhone XR am totally blind and use face ID successfully most of the
time. And I do have the attention thing in abled. As you said, it’s disabled
by default, but you can turn it on, and I find it’s not a problem having it
on.In any case, your nosy roommate would not be able to get into your phone
and less I suppose they took it and had you look at it and you didn’t know
you were doing it or something. But that doesn’t seem like a very common
scenario.

I may be upgrading to the iPhone XR from the iPhone 8. I absolutely refuse
to type in a passcode every time I want to use my phone. Is Face ID worth my
time? Could my nosy room mate get into my phone? I know voiceover disables
the require attention thing. Does this have to be off? My eyes open and
close. They just don't see the screen. I want to know if I should spend that
kind of money. I've been hacked before, and I don't want nosy people in my
stuff.
