So I would be surprised if next year will be called the 7S. It might be but
it’s also the 10th anniversary. It’s supposed to be a big year for updates.

Honestly, considering on contract, it's like ?5 or so more in the UK, despite
the size, the plus might pay off in the long term. Plus greater battery life.
Thanks for that, will see what the 7S brings first, though.

I know it was designed that way, probably some assumption about handling
larger graphics files or something. I do not know the official apple
position for this although the signal processing and photographic qualities
of the 7+ are significantly enhanced over the 7. I would suspect it plays
in to the design somehow.

Kliph, very good summary. Only things I can think of are on the plus you
get two cameras and an extra gig of RAM and on both units you get a
better class 9 modem that supports faster network connectivity (up to 400
megabits) The verizon version and unlocked versions I understand have a
Qualcomm radio that supports CDMA and on the AT&T and T-Mobile versions
you have an Intel modem that is GSM only. I'm using the Intel version and
it's very very good.

Water and dust resistant, no headphone jack, impression of home button,

life, and better camera. I am sure I missed something, so john or scott
can chime in.
