I have a macbook air of about the same age. After I upgraded the computer to
Sierra it was noticeably slower. Mail is not as responsive which was the
main problem. It is the laptop I use from time to time. If it were my main
computer It would be a problem. If I had it to do over again I would not
have upgraded the older computer.
