[mac4theblind] May I an IPhone Question -- Auto Correction and Check Spelling

I am not really clear the difference in these two features. I have both set
to on.
What is driving me nuts is when I key a word and it is changed. I appreciate
spell checking, but I cannot figure out how to keep the word I typed.
Maybe I just need a good tutorial on keyboard issues. Any podcasts?
