I haven't had any problems with either under VMWare.

I don't know how parallels emulates a virtual machine but I suspect that
Kurzweil could be made to work because that doesn't sound right to me. A
virtual machine should run all the things a physical host can. Let us know if
you need any pointers or possibly if you want to give installation a try again
you might post to the list the errors you get.

Thanks
Scott

I had some sighted assistance. I had Parallels, already, and didn’t want to
spend the money for VMware Fusion. It is super frustrating not being able to
use VO with it, though. I may cave in the future and get VMware.

Anyway, everything is great, but I’ve noticed some programs won’t install. For
example, I can’t install Kurzweil 1000. I really, really hoped I could use this
program, but it seems I might have to find a Mac daisy reader and OCR solution.
I hope Microsoft Office 2013 can install OK. If not, then there really wasn’t
much reason to create a VM in the first place.

If you're a blind mac user, you would be using VMware fusion 5 as ts is the
only voiceover compatible hypervisor product on the market. we discuss his a
lot here.

When I'm back later, I'll happily walk you through configuring windows, etc as
I\'m currently in the workshop

So, today I’m going to take care of everything with my Mac in regards to
installing Windows and setting up Parallels.

I had a couple of questions. For people who have installed Windows, how much HD
space is OK? I’ve installed it, already, but I did the default 20 gigs, and
that’s far too small. Is there any way to increase the partition space without
having to reinstall? If I have to reinstall, do I do it through OS X, or do I
have to log into Windows and do it that way so I don’t lose my registration
product key? If I’m using Parallels, can I open up files saved under OS X with
Windows, or are the files I want to open with Windows have to be in the
Bootcamp partition?

Eager to get this all done.

Thanks,
Sam
