iOs can't really get a virus as it's closed, neaning every app is sand boxed
and cannot access the main os core.

Take care.

Well, they are not as acceptable as getting them as windows is but yes they
do and can get them. The virus has to be written for it but most goes after
the biggest population which is still windows users but with Mac becoming
more and more popular they are starting to target the mac more. Also way
back when it was not running intel processer it was also much harder. But
yes again the Mac can get virus and mile ware much easier than it used to.
It depends on your habits as well! JST

I use avast. It is very much accessible and I also use malware bytes on mac
as well, which is very usable as well. Clamxav I'm not using anymore as it
could not remove all of my my stuff that was infected.

I have a feeling I may be in the market for a new iMac in the near future. I
wonder what anti virus software people use and how accessible it is. In
particular, are you able to deal with it when it finds something and you
have to make decisions about how to deal with it? I'm sure this gets asked
from time-to-time, but I've been away from the list for a long long while
and I'm thinking when I get a new computer, I may want to put an anti virus
software on. Thanks.
