The user guide is an accessible pdf and is located in the user guides and 
information folder at the root of your hard drive.  It should be labeled with 
the macbook pro model you have.  Battery care is part of it and I believe it 
also points to another resource for more on battery care.  In fact, here's a 
link which might prove useful.
