Have you ever wanted to start doing your genealogy on your computer? You now have a free way to get started. You can download from the internet free software from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called PAF (Personal Ancestral File) Personal Ancestral File 4.0.4 is for Windows 95/98/NT on a IBM compatible 486/66 processor or better Personal Ancestral File 5.1 is for Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000 on a Pentium PC or iMac with a Windows emulator You can download these programs from the official church web site at http://www/lds.org or http://www.ldscatalog.com The other company to offer free Genealogy software is Millennia the maker of Legacy. They are offering Legacy 3.0 Family Tree software for free. To get your copy of Legacy 3.0 just point your web browser to http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/. and follow the instructions. Currently there is no version of Legacy for a MAC. This is something we may consider for the future. In the meantime, Legacy can run on a MAC that has Virtual PC or similar software installed.
