Thanks but that was just a quick hand coded piece of sample code simply
to demonstrate the problem and not something I'm actually using. :)
I'm actually using a cross-platform API that happened to use
gettimeofday under its covers which was causing the issue to show up. I
don't think the problem was specifically related to gettimeofday but it
is what I was working with.
