Hello members and friends of the institute,
We're having a workshop on July 28 covering shibori fabric dying. Shibori
is a traditional Japanese fabric-dying technique, which can create complex
and beautiful patterns by tying fabrics and dipping them in vats of indigo.
In this workshop, you will learn about this dying process. The workshop
will leave you with beautiful cloth, reminding you of a breezy summer day
in deep blues and whites. Through folding, binding, wrapping, you will
create a scarf and several samplers with various marks created by the
wrapping methods. You may also bring other items to dye and create your own
custom T-shirt, tote bag, etc.
