Well, the weather was not particularly cooperative this past weekend. I didn't
make it to Kisatchie in Natch. Parish. My plan B was to try and drive over to
Sandy Hollow in Tang. Par. but that didn't happen either. I did venture out
both days, staying local.
Saturday, 3/21 - Thistlethwaite: Lots of bush hogging and timber thinning from
the lake down to the pipeline where we sometimes eat lunch. Radically changes
the habitat on the east side of that road.) Temps were around 65-67 and windy
w/ mostly gray skies. No sun. I walked the pipeline cut from both the road
previously referenced and the next road to the east. Some thistle and clover in
bloom.

Sunday, 3/22 - Indian Bayou: I walked the Indian Bayou and Oxbow trails as well
as the train in between. Also along the levee. Lots of thistle in bloom as well
as some good clover stands (white, red and purple). Weather was better with
temps in mid to upper 70's and off and on sun.

ps: Kevin Cunningham reported seeing 2 Grt So. Whites along Island Road in
Terrebonne Par. While his sightings are neither a new parish record nor a new
record for March, it is still an early record.
