I went to Stuart Lake Rd, FS Rds 146 and 147, and the Catahoula
Hummingbird and Butterfly Garden today (3/1/20). Terribly windy and only 4
butterflies seen all day (was also birding). A DW sp. on 146, and two
Cloudless Sulphurs and a Barred Yellow at the butterfly garden. I wasn't
able to get a pic of the Yellow, but saw clearly the black bars on light
yellow dorsal surface of wings when the butterfly would fly. Hard time
getting a good look when it was at rest, but I believe it was the brown
winter form. Anyway, just confirmation that some of this species has made
it through the winter up here so far. Look forward to checking in on the ~
"Grant Kisatchie" population as the spring warms up.
