Although not sightings in LA, I thought at least one of my sightings would be
of interest, Hessel's HS. With directions from Paulette H., I visited the
Gateswood tract (northeast of Mobile) about which she had previously reported.
The Hessel's stayed high in the White Cedars but I got good looks at them thru
my sighting scope as they perched on the tips of cedar branches.

I went to the TNC property near Rodessa in Caddo Parish this afternoon. This
is located very near where Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas meet. The purpose
was to look for yucca giant-skipper because there is a lot of yucca (its host
plant) there. I did not find the skipper, but I did see several other
butterflies including an eastern pine elfin and a juniper hairstreak. The
