But I'll bet that in Memphis you can hear all kinds of things.

I resemble that remark, as the philosopher Curly Stooge like to say with intentionality.

Paul Stone asked

In which part of which country are ANY of these three words pronounced
with the stress on the other syllable?

Does anyone actually say:

salVAGE
serVICE
or
CONtrol?

As Julie says, these are words that DON'T undergo a noun/verb stress change.

But I'll bet that in Memphis you can hear all kinds of things.
