Dear Steven:
This is very interesting, and new to _this_ poster. DuckDuckGo returns, among
its results on Askanas, this link:
https://foucault.info/foucault-l/, ;
from where we learn that Malgosia Askanas was a founding member of the Spoon
collective, where many early philosophy lists where hosted. Was Phil-Lit, or
some pre-Dutton incarnation of it among them? Any information on this would be
greatly appreciated.
David, we conjecture that you share no relation of blood with the more famous
R&B artist, whose name homonymically trespasses on yours. Sorry for that and
the other occasional and (yes) unintended typo.
Yrs,

Reading this week's postings and light historical review of our "list," it
seems the earliest version was omitted. The first version of our group was
begun by Malgosia Askanas, then an MIT Ph. D. candidate — in the late 1980s.
While visiting, working on my Comm-Theory research project, she asked me to
join. David Myers and a number of others, who are no longer with us, were
among the earliest members…
