Judy: Incidentally it had never occurred to me to wonder why Jefferson needed a copy of the Koran. Why shouldn't he have a copy? Why shouldn't anyone?

Some notions:

* Someone might reject the Koran as an inferior religious scripture that, compared to the twelve major Upanishads, is a Pleistocene wall painting.

* Someone might have taken their copy of the Koran and burned it in public to show displeasure with abuses exercised in its name and as an exercise in personal freedom.

* Someone might have loaned their copy of the Koran to a friend who was killed in a terrorist attack, and not want to replace it.
