A few messages back, Robert Paul sighed about the reduction of philosophical
discussion on lit-ideas to an endless re-hash of Wittgenstein and Kant. For
a whole bunch of fresh angles, allow me to suggest a look at Daniel Little's
Understanding Society blog.

His most recent post on philosophy of history and its immediate predecessor,
which raises, among other interesting issues, the question why there is no
philosophy of plumbing (a topic of particular interest to our Sage of
Memphis, I suggest) are good places to start, on what seems to be a massive
undertaking to critically review all of the basic concepts used in scholarly
talk about society.

Best wishes for the New Year.
