What an American day. Up whatever the opposite of "betimes" is. Breakfast with newspaper and the Dutch hour on the radio, followed by the Yiddish hour. Then tennis. Then Dim Sum at China Town. Then a nice bit of quiet, with the Oxford Book of English Verse. Then a Greek independence day dinner, which was loud.
