Here is a secret memo from Zalmay Khalilzad (the US ambassador to Iraq) to Condoleeza Rice,
the US Secretary of State.
It describes the living conditions for Iraqi employees of the US embassy in
Iraq.

It's a long series of bad news. The embassy employees are in fear of their lives. If the US
can't protect its own employees, then it isn't doing much for ordinary Iraqi.
The worst line in the memo is when the embassy employees ask what provisions the US will
make for them if it evacuates (item 15 in the memo).
