All died young, while I am
Keeping Susan past their
Ages, frail and weak
Walking on my arm
To a succession of medical
Appointments against her will.
I've noticed her reluctance:
Always late, always slow to don
Her shoes and jacket, cold
In the car as I drive, but they
One can see in their biographies
Did not have someone
Like me to need them.
