Mr Henninge has registered amusement over the concluding lines

                I suck up the comfort,
                lean into bliss,
                hang
                ten
                with my Homer.

Mr. Yost was reminded of Nabokov's character Pnin, who must assure his students that "On Looking Into Chapman's Homer" is not a poem about baseball.

Yost was also very much taken by Prof. Ritchie's poem, and also by the Henry Adams third-person form of narration evolving here. Yost would also remind readers that this third-person format was employed by the character Strether in Thomas Pynchon's novel, _V_.
