liblouis-1.4.0 is now available on the downloads page at http://www.jjb-software.com . The principal change is the addition of all the tables contributed by various people on the list and the texinfo documentation contributed by Christian Egli. He has also assisted with a problem apparently caused by the large number of tables (102). There is a new tool called lou_debug intended for use in debugging tables. However, it is little more than a skeleton at this time. There is still a problem with the French contracted tables that I am looking for. If anyone wants to join in the bug search start with the function validMatch in lou_translateString.c . It could also have something to do with the way the tables are compiled. Please do not use .dis files in new tables. They are obsolete. If you revise a table that does use a .dis file, please try to remove it. To get good back-translation, the space character should be the first one defined with a dot pattern of 0. The best examples of tables are en-us-g2.ctb nemeth.ctb and the tables they include.
