Hi John,

Thanks for the info. It would be very nice to have people who are willing to
do some testing.

Right now, I am in the middle of restructuring and optimizing the Danish
tables as well as adding a limited version of grade 2, which the Danish
National Library for the Blind and Dyslectic needs to use in some
situations. This will probably still take some time, but I expect to start
working again on the gui in earnest at the latest after the next Liblouis
release in September. I don't know when there is going to be something worth
testing, but a good guess would be around the middle of October.

Best regards Bue

Hi Bue,

I have a contact with a fairly prominent person in the National
Federation of the Blind (NFB) in this country. He is interested in a
Windowd GUI and would be willing to do some testing on Windows 7 when
your work is ready. Let me know and I'll give you his name and address
offlist.

Thanks for your efforts,
John

Hi,

I have already started the development of a gui for liblouisutdml. I am
primarily working on Windows, but it would be nice, it the program could
also work on other operating systems. I am using Python and wxwidgets for
the user interface. BTW, does anyone know if wx is accessible with a
screen
reader on Linux?

The program is supposed to be a hands-off Braille translator for personal
use with as high a level of automation as possible. I am also planning to
have multiple customizable profiles, e.g. for different languages or
output
media.

If others would be interested in working on the project, I could put it on
github, so that others can contribute.

Best regards Bue

Greg has already produced one for MacOS. That can provide a starting
poin for a Windows GUI. It would make full translation and formatting
capabilities available to ordinary users. Plus math and translation of
both text and xml.

This would not be a replacement for BrailleBlaster. It would not have
editing capabilities.

Thanks,
John
