Hello,
This is an issue with correct association of a jar file.

If launching from the command line you must give java the -jar command.

If launching from one of the icons then while on the shortcut icon bring up the context menu (eg. use the application key, or press shift+f10, or if a mouse user right click it), select properties from the menu. In the target edit box you will see something like:
"c:\program files\brailleblaster\brailleblaster.jar"
Change this so that it reads something like:
java -jar "c:\program files\brailleblaster\brailleblaster.jar"

An alternative solution would be to correct the jar file association in windows. While this might be the more correct solution, its not too obvious as how to give the -jar option to the associated application.

The real solution would be for BrailleBlaster to either bundle an embedded JVM or use one of the launcher systems (eg. launch4j http://launch4j.sf.net)

Hi John,
I'm afraid I have to report it isn't working on my Win7 Pro 64bit setup.
I have tried both 64-bit and 32-bit downloads from http://www.brailleblaster.org/getbb.html
Both report 'Error: Could not find or load main class brailleblaster.jar'
downloads were 2012.1 is this the latest?
Thanks
Paul

The application has developed enough so that it can do useful work. This
