Hi Matt,

Not dash cams, but Council has in use body-worn cameras, of which the software
associated with it allows the footage to be stored on a file server and also
has an option to configure a required retention period. I gather the same would
apply to dash cams as well, dependent on the vendor.

Hi all,

The City of Launceston are looking at installing Dash Camera's in our trucks to
support our people when incidents occur. It has however been noted that footage
taken on these cameras could fall under the same legislation as building based
CCTV footage which we are required to keep for 30 days. Has anyone else rolled
out dash camera's and if so, how are they managing and storing the captured
footage.
