Hi Reg!

I have no experience with M42 adapters, but have bought numerous R to 
Canon and R to four-thirds adapters form HK & China, through "the 
bay", and have had no problems with any of them.

I don't know the registrations, but you need a mm or two difference, 
with the M42 registration being the greater, so that there is room 
for the adapter and still have your lenses focus to infinity.

Perhaps the master of adapters, Douglas Sharp, can illuminate this 
issue, further.

As for the post from urdds@xxxxxxxx  you are right, most emails of 
this sort are malicious.  I didn't click on the link, either!
